Matthieu Michel is Operations Director at the Energy Innovation Centre (EIC). With over two decades of experience leading positive change in the energy sector, he is committed to driving collaboration between the networks (gas and electricity) and innovators to deliver efficiency improvements and accelerate the transition to net zero. This is achieved by defining priority innovation challenges with networks, supporting the end-to-end innovation process from concept to reality, engaging with key industry stakeholders, and constantly enhancing the guidance and support available to innovators.Matthieu’s achievements to date include the EIC being awarded Great Place to Work certification, 200+ challenges being advertised, a 90% success rate in sourcing solutions, the development of a global community of more than 10,000 innovators, £50 million of brokered investment. In addition to social benefits, the portfolio of projects facilitated by the EIC has the potential to deliver financial benefits exceeding £150 million once solutions are deployed across the industry.He has also held roles at London Electricity, EDF Energy and UK Power Networks.
