Emerson is a Data Science Apprentice at National Grid Electricity Distribution, the company responsible for operating maintaining the electricity network in the Midlands, South West and South Wales. As part of his apprenticeship, he is studying a degree in Data Science at the University of Nottingham alongside working. Emerson focuses on using data analytics to provide insights for the business. In his time at company, he has explored the limitations and benefits of the smart meter data. In particular, the challenges posed by the requirement to aggregate smart meter data to a minimum customer threshold before it can be used. At Utility Week Live, he will be discussing these findings and their implications for network monitoring.
