Brenda has researched the use of energy in housing since the 1980s, with particular reference to the fuel poor. The limited progress with energy efficiency improvements to their homes together with the price rises since 2020 has exacerbated their problems. Brenda's most recent research 'Finding the fuel poor and framing better policy' was undertaken with colleagues from the ECI and Cambridge Architectural Research.
