Dan Ross

Environmental Strategy Manager, Southern Water
Dan Ross, CEnv, MCIEEM With near 25 years experience as an environmental professional, Dan has worked across charity, local government and corporate sectors, and is currently an Environment Strategy Manager at Southern Water. As a Chartered Environmentalist (Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Managment), Dan has sought to champion action for the Biodiversity and Climate crisis throughout his career. This has spanned diverse sectors and areas of work from strategic environmental leadership, managing parks, open spaces, and public realm, through to enhancing nationally important nature reserves, and overseeing landscape restoration projects. He is passionate about engaging people with and galvanising support for the restoration of nature at a landscape scale, through building partnership approaches. At Southern Water, Dan is responsible for driving environmental ambition across the company, developing and implementing corporate Environment Strategy, embedding approaches to Biodiversity Net Gain and Natural Capital. He influences on environmental matters internally and externally to enable the business to have positive long term impact on our environment within the Southern Water operational region across Sussex, Kent, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Dan has lived and worked Sussex for over 25 years, and currently lives in Lewes, East Sussex in the South Downs National Park, where he loves to spend time walking and cycling with his family.
