The Road to net Zero project

Road to Net Zero is a collaborative initiative launched in 2022, funded by TfL, aimed at decarbonising the UK's street and road works sector. The project brings organisations together to develop tools for achieving net zero emissions by 2050. Spanning Discovery, Design, and Delivery phases, it will create a Carbon Calculator, alternative business models, and 'The All Consequences Calculator' to support carbon accounting and emissions comparison. By fostering collaboration, Road to Net Zero seeks to embed sustainable infrastructure development into the sector's future.

GeoPlace is a partnership between the Local Government Association and Ordnance Survey. We work with local authorities to create and maintain the NSG which holds authoritative information for all the streets in England and Wales. Organisations and local authorities use it to work efficiently on, and travel around, our national road network. Through our sponsorship of JAG(UK), we support the co-ordination of organisations responsible for the roads and streets, including government, HAUC(UK), National Traffic Managers Forum and other related bodies for asset or utility network management and other events taking place on the highway. We also manage FindMyStreet and DataViaAPI designed to improve access to the NSG.
